Medical questionnaire provided prior to appointment

Blood tests carried out week before consultation (normally Tuesday mornings) – All other tests (Urine test, blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, vitalograph, 12 lead ECG) carried out on the day of consultation with Dr Bangar – therefore patients usually asked to attend half hour earlier than appointment time with Dr Bangar so that the nurses can carry out the tests.

Consultation with Dr Bangar. Includes documentation of any symptoms / complaints, previous medical history, drug history, social history. Full physical examination – Visual skin check, cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal, central and peripheral nervous system. Prostate screen (men over 50 or by request)

Blood tests

Renal function  – Sodium, Potassium, Creatinine, urea, EGFR. Liver function – Bilirubin, ALP, ALT, GGT, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin. Fasting Lipid Profile – Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, TAG, Chol/HDL ratio. Diabetes tests- Fasting glucose, HbA1c, Prostate Specific Antigen.

Cardiovascular disease risk –  calculated.

Lung Function tests – Vitalograph / Spirometry – reported

12 lead ECG – reported

The health check can be adapted to the needs of the patient. Further investigations can be added as per individual requirements, or on findings during the health check. This will be agreed with the patient on the day (and can incur further charge).

A medical report is prepared and sent to the patient.

Any abnormality can be investigated further or treated.

Follow up is not usually necessary but can be arranged if required.

Clinics are held Thursdays 2.30pm onwards
